Tilleke & Gibbins Tops World Trademark Review’s Rankings for Thailand
World Trademark Review

For the fourth consecutive year, Tilleke & Gibbins has received a “Gold Band” ranking in Thailand in the 2014 edition of the World Trademark Review 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals.

The publication’s editorial praises the firm, saying, “An international perspective twinned with in-depth local knowledge positions ‘outstanding’ ensemble Tilleke & Gibbins at the apex of the IP scene.” It goes on to mention that the firm has “an innate understanding of the needs of multinationals.” The WTR 1000 also individually ranked four Tilleke & Gibbins partners. This was an exceptional result, because Tilleke & Gibbins was the only firm in the Thai market to receive more than two individual recognitions. The partners were recognized in the categories of (1) enforcement and litigation and (2) prosecution and strategy, as follows:

  • Darani Vachanavuttivong was described by a client as delivering “round-the-clock coverage and seamless service.” She was listed in the Gold Band for both enforcement and litigation and prosecution and strategy, making her the only practitioner in Thailand to be recognized at the top of the market in both fields.
  • Alan Adcock, who was listed in the Silver Band for both categories, was described as being “incisive,” and as having licensing acumen that is “famed across the region.”
  • Nandana Indananda was recognized in the enforcement and litigation category as “hugely impressive” for his role in the firm’s contentious matters.
  • Srila Thongklang was also ranked for enforcement and litigation, as a leading player in IP litigation in the Thai market. He is commended for his ability to “find expedient solutions for the trickiest of matters.”

The WTR 1000 rankings are based on extensive research carried out in relation to trademarks. Over a period of four months, the World Trademark Review conducted telephone interviews and exchanged correspondence with hundreds of lawyers, clients, and other practitioners. They looked at firms’ depth of expertise, market presence, outstanding partners, and the level of work typically instructed. The selected firms were split into “Gold,” “Silver,” and “Bronze” bands based upon reputation, time in service, high-profile work, and comments from experts in the field.
