Noting the impact of IP judgments and settlements in Asia, Asia IP has recognized a civil patent litigation matter handled by Tilleke & Gibbins as one of Thailand’s landmark cases of the past year in its annual Landmark Cases issue. The dispute in this complex case revolved around the infringement of a patent related to the material sciences industry. In the case, Tilleke & Gibbins successfully secured a rare Anton Piller order from the Thai Intellectual Property and International Trade Court to seize crucial evidence ahead of the trial. Just prior to the rendering of a decision in the civil suit, the parties agreed to a favorable settlement for the Tilleke & Gibbins client.
