POSITION SUMMARY

Areas of Responsibility

  • Filing patent and design applications and reporting the filing particulars, publication and registration progress.
  • Conducting patent searches, patentability assessments, patent infringement, and freedom to operate analyses.
  • Preparing, drafting, and reviewing patent specifications.
  • Responding to client enquiries such as new application procedures/estimated costs, renewal procedures/estimated costs, and other patent and design related matters.
  • Providing authoritative legal advice to clients related to both technical and administrative issues.
  • Formulating legal strategies, providing legal opinions and analytical responses to clients’ requests for legal advice, and acting as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Providing superior service to clients and colleagues at all times.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations on related fields for associations, conferences, and conventions; writing articles; and participating in a wide range of other marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Performing assigned administrative matters, including billing and collection of fees for work performed.

Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.), biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedicine, or other related fields, required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience handling IP and/or patent-related matters.

  • Communication skills – have excellent written and spoken skills in both Thai and English.
  • Organizational skills – be able to effectively manage multiple assignments and prioritize work.
  • Persuasion skills – be able to confidently persuade, articulate, and discuss legal issues, transactions, and strategies.
