This position is for an intellectual property lawyer to assist clients with legal issues related to the ownership of service marks, trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.  The lawyer is expected to have strong expertise and legal knowledge in the field and capabilities in rendering professional advice and managing complex legal issues.

Areas of Responsibility

Legal Practice 

  • Handle intellectual property prosecution and litigation cases; analyze and determine legal strategies, draft pleadings, prepare briefs and legal arguments as well as rehear witness testimony before court
  • Conduct investigation, discovery, and sensitive negotiation with other lawyers and their clients; write legal opinion and monitor the development of cases involving protection and legal problems
  • Provide legal counseling and information pertaining to protecting intellectual property and arrange formal register with government officer in order to receive maximum protection under the law
  • Prepare, draft, review, and provide consultancy for trademark and/or patent related matters
  • Conduct trademark and/or patent searches, infringement analysis, and freedom-to-operate searches and analysis
  • Respond to inquiries, including, but not limited to, new application procedures/estimated costs, renewal procedures/estimated costs, and related matters
  • Negotiate with government, agencies, private individuals, and organizations in non-litigation situations
  • Perform other necessary and required tasks related to Intellectual Property matters and/or other administrative tasks

Client Development and Managing Work and Relationships

  • Take initiative, designs and implements business development and marketing plans for the Intellectual Property practice group for Thailand office and the firm’s overseas offices in the region
  • Regularly publish articles and make presentations that increase the firm’s visibility and result in new business
  • Participate in crafting proposals and pitching for new business from current or prospective clients
  • Identify and participate in relevant conferences as agreed by partners/department heads
  • Take full ownership of work with minimal oversight from partners
  • Effectively and efficiently manage projects and matters well
  • Provide superior service to clients and colleagues at all times

Administrative Tasks

  • Manage other administrative tasks in professional and timely manners such as time recording, invoicing, billing and chasing aged debt, matter opening, conflicts, etc.

  • Persuasive, articulate and confident discussing legal issues, transactions and strategies
  • Effectively and persuasively present the client’s position and represent the client’s interests.
  • Able to apply legal principles and draw on experience to develop strategies and solve problems that add real value for clients
  • Demonstrate excellent legal and business judgment that inspires client’s confidence
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in both Thai and English and ability to present information, including complex legal issues, clearly and concisely
  • Take full ownership of work with minimal oversight from partners
  • Demonstrate true commitment to achieving positive matter outcomes


  • 3-5 years of experience in IP prosecution/enforcement/litigation works
  • Experience in conducting legal research and drawing legal conclusions


  • Knowledge in Intellectual Property Law and able to handle matters such as copyrights, patents, trademark law, licensing, franchising, distribution, technology transfers, and trade secret projects
  • Knowledge in licensing inventions, drafting licensing agreements, negotiating settlements, and conducting IP asset due diligence
