Phuc Huu Nguyen is an associate with Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial team, based in the Ho Chi Minh City office. His practice focuses primarily on tech/media/telecom (TMT) matters, with particular expertise in data privacy and cybersecurity. Phuc also regularly provides legal consultancy for foreign investors in Vietnam and advises on business activities such as investment, M&A, and legal entity establishment.
Before joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Phuc earned a master’s degree from Nagoya University (Japan), led the data protection team at a top regional law firm, and served as legal counsel for one of Vietnam’s leading investment companies. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the field of data protection from the University of Antwerp (Belgium).

- Assisted a Japanese whistleblower service to comply with personal data protection regulations.
- Provided training on data protection regulations for the in-house legal counsel and employees of a major Vietnamese F&B conglomerate and several banks.
- Drafted and reviewed third-party contracts in the field of data protection for a multinational internet company and a Japanese electronics giant.
- Advised an Australian crypto company to comply with Vietnamese laws, including the requirements of Vietnamese data protection regulation.
- Assisted a Singapore entity in acquiring a significant majority stake in a Vietnamese company in the medical sector.
- Led an M&A team for a European entity to acquire a Vietnamese company with product quality control activities.
- Led an M&A team for a European entity to acquire a Vietnamese company conducting consumer products testing.
- Assisted a Chinese investment group with licensing to launch their manufacturing activities in industrial zones.
- Assisted a global cafe chain to successfully open its branches in Vietnam’s central region.
- Assisted an American-based investor in acquiring 100% of the shares of a leading logistics company in Danang with a transaction value of USD 20 million.
