POSITION SUMMARY

Position Summary:

Serves as a key senior lawyer to lead and develop healthcare and life sciences practice for the firm’s corporate and commercial department.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Legal Practice

  • Advises healthcare, pharma and life sciences clients on all commercial transactions, commercial agreements, mergers and acquisition, regulatory and compliance issues
  • Drafts and reviews commercial contracts such as clinical agreement, manufacturing and supply agreements, research and development agreements, master service agreements, distribution agreements, material transfer agreement, etc.
  • Negotiates business transactions as well as assists with mergers and acquisition and venture capital work containing a life sciences element
  • Formulates legal strategies, provides legal opinions and analytical responses to clients and acting as the primary point of contact for clients
  • Performs legal research when and as necessary to resolve legal issues and determine the appropriate course of action regarding a particular issue/case

Client Development and Managing Work and Relationships

  • Promotes the firm’s business development focusing on life sciences practice
  • Regularly publishes articles and makes presentations that increase the firm’s visibility and result in new business
  • Participates in crafting proposals and pitching for new business from current or prospective clients
  • Identifies and participates in relevant conferences as agreed by partners/department heads
  • Takes full ownership of work with very minimal oversight from partners
  • Effectively and efficiently manages projects and matters well

Administrative Tasks

  • Manages other administrative tasks in professional and timely manners such as time recording, invoicing, billing and chasing aged debt, matter opening, conflicts, etc.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities work effectively
  • Persuasive, articulate and confident discussing legal issues, transactions and strategies
  • Effectively and persuasively presents the client’s position and represents the client’s interests
  • Able to apply legal principles and draw on experience to develop strategies and solve problems that add real value for clients
  • Demonstrates excellent legal and business judgment that inspires client’s confidence
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in both Thai and English and ability to present information, including complex legal issues, clearly and concisely
  • Takes full ownership of work with minimal oversight from partners. Demonstrates
    true commitment to achieving positive matter outcomes

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in representing life sciences companies in the structuring, negotiation and drafting of license, collaboration, co-development, manufacture/supply and other similar commercial agreements, in either a private law firm or in-house position
  • Experience with life science transactions preferred, including drafting and negotiating collaboration agreements, license agreements, supply and other operational agreements, and product purchase and sale agreements

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of life sciences, health related law which include policy judgement and legal issues that affect the development, production, distribution, and use of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology products, and medical devices, etc.
  • Has strong expertise in healthcare and life sciences to lead and manage complex legal matters
  • Develop and maintain expertise in applicable laws and regulations regarding the research, development and marketing of pharmaceutical products, as well as those concerning corporate and commercial matters generally applicable to publicly held corporations
