In its annual Trademark Survey, legal publication Asia IP has ranked Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam IP practice in “Tier 1” for its capabilities in “Trademark Prosecution” and “Trademark Contentious” work. This year, our Vietnam practice has received “Tier 1” rankings in Trademarks from Managing Intellectual Property and Asian Legal Business, while World Trademark Review has awarded our firm a “Gold Band” ranking in the area. Managing IP also named Tilleke & Gibbins “Intellectual Property Firm of the Year” in Vietnam.
The Asia IP Trademark Survey’s editorial goes on to quote Thomas Treutler, managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam offices, on his views regarding potential reform of the country’s IP laws. “Clearer definitions of ‘use’ and an easier process to be recognized as well-known are both good changes that could be made,” he said.
