Yuwadee Thean-ngarm is an attorney-at-law and litigator in the intellectual property group of Tilleke & Gibbins. With broad experience in copyright, patent, and domain name litigation, Yuwadee specializes in representing clients in trademark disputes at all levels, including at the Trademark Registrar, the Board of Trademarks, and the Intellectual Property and International Trade Court (IP&IT Court). She defends trademarks identifying goods as diverse as biological products, vehicles, clothing, and electronics.
Yuwadee is a registered patent agent and notarial services attorney. She is also a member of Thai Bar Association and Lawyers Council of Thailand. She has completed the Development of Specialist in Trademark Registration course at the Thai Department of Intellectual Property, the Specialist Bar in IP #2 at the IP&IT Court, and the JPO/IPR Training Course for Advanced IP Protection Practitioners.

Protected the intellectual property rights of a famous drug company in regard to an osteoporosis drug product passed off by another pharmaceutical company. The IP&IT Court ordered the cancellation of the infringing party’s mark and the payment of damages for infringement on a monthly basis, calculated from the date of filing the Complaint.

Represented a highly successful Chinese manufacturing enterprise in a dispute with a Malaysian manufacturing company concerning the worldwide usage of similar trademarks pertaining to vehicles. A favorable resolution was reached through negotiation.

Represented an Italian fashion brand in a civil action against the Department of Intellectual Property to appeal the Board of Trademarks’ rejection of the client’s trademark application.

Secured the registration of a trademark for a market leader in aircraft components in an appeal at the IP&IT Court.

Represented our client before the IP&IT Court and obtained a very favorable settlement just prior to the rendering of judgment in what has been widely regarded as the largest and most complex patent infringement case in Thai history. In this multijurisdictional case, our team not only secured a rare Anton Piller order to seize infringing goods, which enabled us to successfully prove infringement, but also formulated extensive strategies for protecting the validity of our client’s patent.
